Dr. Anasuya Jegathevi Jegathesan

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anasuya Jegathevi Jegathesan, who is currently the Dean of Psychology and Social Science at the University of Cyberjaya. She was previously the Director for the Centre for Human Excellence & Development and a Program Director at Taylor's University. She has been a licensed, practicing counsellor in Malaysia, contributing to both educational and practical ventures in Malaysia and globally.

Mental Health in Times of Crisis
From MH370, to suicides, to the current floods in Selangor, mental health services and image in Malaysia has been impacted greatly by the activities of practitioners on the ground. This talk addresses the impact that we as mental health practitioners' have on those in crisis and the impact it has on stigma and perception of those around us. Personal experiences in crisis will be used to highlight skills that are required on the ground and the means to manage teams heading into crisis in a coherent manner.
