Dr. Mimi Fitriana

International University of Malaya-Wales Kuala Lumpur

Dr Mimi is a senior lecture at the International University of Malaya-Wales Kuala Lumpur. She has been in the research and teaching experience for the past 20 years. Dr Mimi's expertise include trauma recovery, resilience, mental health, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cyber Psychology and Quality education.

 

Dr Mimi has been active in research grants collaboration with international and local universities as the lead project investigator as well as the member of a few research grants. She has also been the recipient of a few best paper awards, best presenter awards in some conferences. Her contribution in teaching discipline includes clinical psychology, abnormal psychology, neuropsychology and psychological testing to name a few.

 

Dr Mimi is also the volunteer in Malaysian Relief Agency as the lead psychosocial support program during COVID-19 in Malaysia as the clinical psychologist to join the KKM frontliners, and was awarded among others by the Minister of Defence and Minister of Health, Malaysia in 2021. Dr Mimi has also been providing training and development programs for various industries and institutions inside and outside Malaysia.

Towards Enhancing Individuals’ Mental Health during the COVID-19 pandemic: Implication of Family and Spiritual Resilience

Mental health has been a perennial discussion across disciplines, due to its indispensable influence on the individuals' psychological, emotional and other physical health consequences, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Such an integral part in individuals' mental capacity, has been immensely focused on by professionals to improve and enhance the well-being of people during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the goals of maintaining individuals' productivity and efficiency, enhancing their mental health through family and spiritual resilience during the pandemic, the current research explores how their well-being are maintained.  It exposes the importance of alleviating problems of stress, burnout, anxiety, and other mental health issues which are experienced by many people during the pandemic. The article implies significant roles of family and spiritual resilience towards enhancing the mental health of the individuals to escalate their well-being, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
